A performance by the ‘LEEUWARDER SHANTYKOOR’ is a happening of great enjoyment .
When performing in public and singing the international traditional seasongs and shanties, many times our public have a great time.
Our repertoire consists of more than 90 English, German, Dutch, Frisian, Estlandish, and French songs.
It’s our obligation to keep these songs alive and therefore keep in remembrance, the hard times of sailing ship crews.
The “LEEUWARDER SHANTYCHOIR” started in 2001 with a small group of men love singing seasongs and shanties. At this moment we count 40 men.
We have 6 enthusiastic musicians who are a great benefit to our choir.
About 25 performances a year .
